Sandra N. Dinwiddie, NP was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She went to Phillips Exeter Academy and then on to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she focused on Mathematics. She then moved to Arizona in the late 1990s and worked in software implementation project management for over 5 years. After the dot.com bubble burst, then she focused, like many in her family, on nursing. She attended Grand Canyon University for the nursing program for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. For her undergraduate nursing studies, she was part of the first cohort with a partnership with then, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center which is now Dignity Health and that is where she gained experience with bedside nursing.
As she transitioned through her nursing career, she branched into Informatics Nursing. Sandra combined her previous software skills with clinical knowledge, and she traveled the country, leading a team of clinicians and technical staff in installing electronic medical records in over 25 hospitals around the country. She then opted to get off the road warrior travel schedule to focus back on direct patient care and studied with Maryville University of St. Louis to become an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Sandra is a certified Nurse Practitioner with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to that, she is Botox Certified which she can use for both pain management and Aesthetics. As a provider, she has worked within family practice with tele-medicine. Most recently, she has been focused on the management of chronic pain patients and supporting them with a compassionate approach to care.
She has served on the Arizona Nurses Foundation and Arizona College Advisory Board as a Board Member where she helped with the administration of scholarships for nursing students. In addition, she is adjunct facility at the University of Cincinnati for graduate students studying to be Nurse Practitioners.
Personally, she has a family locally and enjoys traveling, cooking, live concerts of all music types, and spending time with her family.
